The Faculty of Social Sciences was established in 1967 and has since undergone rapid expansion and significant transformation. Today, the Faculty comprises the Departments of Geography, Politics and Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration, and Sociology. It also has nine multidisciplinary research centres that provide a platform for research interaction and collaboration among colleagues on campus and in the wider world. As the Faculty moves forward to implementing the 4-year curriculum from 2012, it has identified two core themes to guide future development: social innovation and global citizenship. In the concept of social innovation, we seek to fuse social responsibility and social leadership. In the concept of global citizenship, we seek to embrace global awareness and global engagement.
