HUMAN RESOURCES OF HKU

 

The Medical Faculty of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the longest established faculty in the tertiary education in Hong Kong. The Faculty has now become the largest faculty of the University with more than 250 full-time teaching staff, 600 research support staff, and 1,600 honorary teachers. The current student population is about 3,300 (2,000 undergradaute and 1,300 postgraduate students). The Faculty comprises 17 teaching departments and the Eye Institute, the School of Chinese Medicine, the School of Public Health, the Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education (IMHSE), and 6 strategic research centres focusing on strengths of research of the Faculty. The Faculty is also equipped with common core facilities, a Clinical Trial Centre, a Centre for Genomic Sciences, a Laboratory Animal Unit and a Medical Library. The Faculty is dedicated to innovative research with high scientific and translational values, thereby contributing to the development of Hong Kong into a biomedical research hub of the region.
