Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis for RAP, or on a one- to three-year temporary basis for PDF, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in molecular pharmacology, biomedical science, or related disciplines.  They should demonstrate a deep understanding and knowledge of vascular biology and/or ageing, with excellent track records in molecular research and animal experimental pathophysiology.  They should also be organized, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.  The appointee will work in a well-established group, and is expected to perform high-impact research related to the pathogenesis of vascular ageing and function/regulation of the longevity regulator (SIRT1).  He/She will use various approaches to explore novel therapeutic targets with translational implications for cardiovascular diseases.  Enquiries about the post should be made to the Department of Pharmacology & Pharmacy at  Those who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 201800323) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  For RAP, the appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
